Modern requirements for the training of qualified specialists have an impact on educational standards, which change together with the requirements for students at the end of a higher educational institution and at the beginning of their professional activity. One of the effective ways to increase the competence of students is the case-study method. This is an interactive teaching method, which is based on solving situational problems based on the materials of specific cases from practice. In addition to the case method, it is possible to use video materials in the process of teaching medical students. This can significantly increase the involvement, interest of the student, and can also contribute to the assimilation of the material. As part of improving the quality of the pedagogical process, a lesson was held on the basis of the Department of Oncology and Radiology of the Public Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education “M. Gorky DonNMU” using a combination of interactive teaching methods (case study method and video lecture). As a result of the study, we can conclude that the proposed method was interesting in the opinion of students, and also contributed to a better assimilation of the material according to the results of the final testing
