Pressure induced giant magnetoresistance in Ce2Fe17 compound

2002
Abstract The results of a study of resistivity and magnetoresistance of the polycrystalline Ce 2 Fe 17 compound under pressure up to 10 kbar at magnetic field up to 9 T are presented. The giant magnetoresistance observed under pressure at 4.2 K is a consequence of metamagnetic transition from antiferromagnetic to ferromagnetic state. It reaches the value of 42% under pressure of 5 kbar.
