Lectin‐mediated flocculation of the yeast Saccharomycodes ludwigii NCYC 734
1992
Aggregation of the yeast Saccharomycodes ludwigii NCYC 734 was examined. Aggregation was expressed throughout growth, involved surface proteins, required calcium ions, and was specifically inhibited by D-galactose, D-fucose, and L-arabinose. This is consistent with lectin-mediated yeast flocculation and represents the first report of flocculation in this yeast genus.
