Images of the RF Stability of a Lower Hybrid PAM Launcher

2008
A novel launcher design for heating and current drive of fusion plasmas with lower hybrid waves was proposed. It uses a concept promising resistance to situations expected in the ITER advanced scenarios: the passive-active multijunction (PAM). To study its RF stability against changes in plasma loading, a code was developed, requiring visualization of multidimensional computationally generated data. Images from an application to the PAM under construction for Tore Supra illustrate the importance of visualization techniques and tools.
