O USO DE MINIIMPLANTES COMO AUXILIARES DO TRATAMENTO ORTODÔNTICO

The mini-implants have been used as an important method of anchorage in orthodontics, eliminating the necessity of patient compliance and serving of support for various types of orthodontic movements till now considered complex for the traditional systems of anchorage. This paper approaches the main topics related to the use of the mini-implants in orthodontics: literature review; indications; contraindications; planning; instruments; preparing for installation; surgical procedures; postoperative; application of force; clinical applications; complications; success rate and keys for increase of the success rate of the mini-implants during the orthodontic treatment.
