키치의 조형적 특성을 응용한 헤어작품 연구

2015
Kitsch emerged as a dominant force in the development process of civilization in civil society as the society started to enjoy affluence after the industrial revolution in the 19th century, connecting high-grade culture and popular culture as a cultural phenomenon. The study also presented hair designs reflecting those elements. In addition to the theoretical consideration of kitsch, the investigator reviewedbooks, previous studies, journals, hair and fashion magazines and Internet home and abroad to analyze the formative characteristics and patterns of kitsch hair style. The formative characteristics of kitsch include exaggeration, inappropriateness, playfulness, satire, nostalgia, and sensationalist. The kitsch hair styles representing each period include afro, hippie, funk, ecology, and Oriental. Based on the analysis results of their characteristics, the investigator embodied and created five pieces. The study will hopefully contribute to the new perception of kitsch hair styles as expressive art in kitsch trends and be followed by more diverse, ongoing researches on the conception of kitsch hair design to promote the growth of beauty industry.
