Scaling of the nonlinear susceptibility in the spin-glass TAl78Mn22 quasicrystalline alloy

1990
Abstract It is shown for the first time that the non-linear susceptibility, X NL = X − M / H , of the quasicrystalline TAl 78 Mn 22 alloy has a scaling behavior similar to canonical spin-glass systems. A good scaling is obtained for magnetic fields from 1. kOe up to 50. kOe and for temperatures above 14. K. The scaling yields the critical exponents γ = 4.4 and β = 0.6, and the critical temperature T g = 7.6 K, consistent with values obtained in canonical spin-glasses.
