Uticaj vrste plastifikatora na mehaničke karakteristike i propustljivost vodene pare polisaharidnih filmova

2018
In order to solve one of the environmental problems - irreversible pollution caused by the use of non-biodegradable and non-renewable polyethylene films, efforts have been made to replace such films with biodegradable ones. The films were prepared from mixtures of different polysaccharides, which are an alternative and sustainable replacement of commercial synthetic films. Films based on locust bean gum and k-carrageenan were prepared by the solvent-casting method. The ratio of locust bean gum to k-carrageenan was 100:0, 75:25, 50:50, 25:75 and 100:0. Mechanical characteristics and water vapor permeability of film obtained were examined. Also, the influence of various plasticizers (glycerol, PEG600 and PEG1000) and the different part of the plasticizer on the properties of the synthesized films were examined. The results showed that the films where the polymer mixture was 50:50 had better characteristics compared to other films of a different ratio of the two polymers. It has also been found that films where the glycerol was used as a plasticizer possesses the best mechanical characteristics but also the highest water vapor permeability coefficient. A film where a mixture of 20% glycerol and 10% PEG1000 was used as a plasticizer showed pptimal characteristics.
