Laboratory evaluation of hydrolytic enzymes of Isaria fumosorosea wize and its efficiency against Eurema blanda and Pericallia ricini

2012
The virulence of Isaria fumosorosea (Ifr) wise isolates (Ifr1-Azhagar hills and Ifr2-gudalur) were assessed against Eurema blanda and Pericallia ricini. Mortality of both isolates, Ifr1 and Ifr2 8 days after incubation at 108 spores/mL were 88.89 and 62.22%; whereas, the same isolates had a maximum of 69.44 and 61.19% mortality against E. blanda, respectively. two clear bands at 23kDa and 30kDa obtained by sDs-PAge for isolates, P. ricini and E. blanda indicated that certain protease (23kDa) and chitinase (30kDa) were present in the secretome protein fraction. this evidence further supported that the enhanced mortality of P. ricini and E. blanda was due to the Ifrand Ifrisolates enzymatic activity. Isolate Ifrwas found to be more pathogenic 1 22 than Ifr1. the Virulence and mortality of Ifr2 isolates against P. ricini and E. blanda has demonstrated potential as biocontrol agents for control of these pests.
