A study of heavy hypernuclei using the (π+, K+) reaction

The (π+, K+) reaction was used to study lambda hypernuclear states in Λ 9 Be, Λ 12 C, Λ 13 C, Λ 16 O, Λ 28 Si, Λ 40 Ca, Λ 51 V and Λ 89 Y. The results show that the (π+, K+) reaction is ideally suited for populating lambda single-particle states in heavy nuclei.
