New predictors of fatal outcome in patients with COVID-19 viral infection

2021
This article provides a comparative analysis of laboratory testing data of deceased and surviving patients diagnosed with COVID-19 to evaluate their association with disease outcomes. It was shown that along with such well-known tests as troponin, creatin phosphokinase-MB, creatinine, C-reactive protein, procalcitonin, lactate dehydrogenase and D-dimer, the following tests also had prognostic value: albumin, neutrophil-albumin ratio and neutrophil-lymphocytic ratio.
