Strontium content of La2-xSrCuO4- single crystals grown from CuO flux
1990
The authors investigate the possibility of changing the strontium content in La2-xSrxCuO4 crystals by a change of SrO content in the flux. Single crystals were grown by spontaneous crystallisation and were investigated by X-ray diffraction and electron microprobe analysis. The critical temperature was determined from DC susceptibility measurements. Single crystals of La2-xSrxCuO4 were obtained with 0strontium content tends to saturate at the level x=0.08. Below saturation, 75% of the initial SrO is incorporated. A cross section of the solidus of the LaO1.5-SrO-CuO phase diagram at approximately 1180 degrees C for solid solutions of La2-xSrxCuO4 was also determined.
