If problems arise during parturition, minipig owners often turn to small animal practitioners, who usually have little experience in treating pigs. Knowledge of physiological and pathological birth processes is necessary to make the right decisions in an emergency. Dystocia that require a caesarean section are such an emergency. The following article explains the procedure for a caesarean section on the basis of a case report and describes anesthesia and surgical procedures.
