Application advancement of α2 adrenergic receptor agonists in perioperative cardiovascular surgery

Background α2 adrenergic receptor (α2AR) agonists have pharmacological effects of sedation,analgesia and sympatholysis and so on,which can stablize hemodynamics and inhibit stress reaction perioperatively.Objective For patients undergoing cardiovascular surgery,the actions of α2AR agonists,which include maintenance of stable blood pressure and heart rate and a reduction in oxygen consumption,can be expected to reduce the risk of postoperative events related to heart surgery.Therefore,it is worth exploring the use of α2AR agonists in perioperative cardiovascular surgery.Content The article describes the mechanism of action of α2AR agonist and its pharmacological action and clinical application of perioperative cardiovascular surgery.Trend It is confirmed that α2AR agonists have positive effect in cardiovascular surgery.The clinical use of α2AR agonists will be more extensive because of the antagonist of α2AR agonists.
