In situ monitoring of the magnetization rotation of a soft layer using microwave permeability measurements

Abstract This paper demonstrates that the monitoring of the microwave permeability of thin films is an efficient way to obtain a real-time information on the in-plane uniaxial anisotropy, both in magnitude and in direction. Theoretical guidelines required to extract relevant information on the in-plane uniaxial anisotropy are presented. This technique has evidenced a fast decrease in the anisotropy followed by a slower rotation process of the uniaxial anisotropy in a Co 91 Nb 6 Zr 3 film during thermo-magnetic annealing.
