Unusual Concentration‐Rate Profiles for Oxidation of a Pair of Associating Thiols
1988
In base-catalyzed oxidation of a pair of associating thiols [HSCH2–CONHCONH–Ph and HSCH2CH2NHCONHCO–C6H13] with oxygen, there are concentration regions where initial rates decrease with increasing concentrations of the thiols. For a pair of nonassociating thiols [HSCH2CO2C2H5 and HSCH2CH2OH], initial rates increase linearly with concentrations of the thiols.
