The invention discloses a gas separation method based on a porous material and a separation system, relates to the technical field of mixed gas separation and can solve the problems of discontinuous existing hydrate separation process, low separation coefficient, slow reaction speed and the like. The gas separation method based on the porous material comprises the following steps: providing a moist reaction channel filled with the porous material, wherein the aperture of the porous material is a nano scale; introducing pre-treated mixed gas into the reaction channel, enabling gas to be separated in the mixed gas to generate hydration reaction with water/an aqueous solution in the porous material, generating a hydrate, discharging residual gas and keeping the moisture content in the reaction channel within a preset scope; decomposing the hydrate in the reaction channel to obtain purified gas to be separated. Meanwhile, the separation system adopting the method is provided. According to the gas separation method based on the porous material, provided by the invention, the contact area between the gas and the water can be increased to the furthest degree, the hydrate generation rate is improved, and meanwhile, the gas separation coefficient is improved.
