Fabrication of superhydrophobic textiles with high water pressure resistance

2017
Abstract A major challenge remains in preparing superhydrophobic textiles that withstand the impact of high hydrostatic pressure. In this report, textiles were coated with PDMS/SiO 2 mixture to obtain water pressure resistant property. Then the coated textiles were further hydrophobized with tetraethoxysilane and cetyltrimethoxysilane by an in situ Stober reaction. The as-obtained textiles exhibited a static water contact angle of 162.5° with a sliding angle
