A dual-band low-cost printed feed of offset parabolic reflector antennas for 2.4/5.5GHz WLAN systems
2011
A low-cost feed with simple structure which can cover the 2.4–2.483 GHz and 5.15–5.85 GHz WLAN systems is designed and manufactured. The feed is formed by the transition between the microstrip and slotline transmission line, slotline antenna and parasitical radiation cavity. The measured results show that the feed can operate in dual band of WLAN systems and approximately has an invariableness radiation patterns including amplitude and phase within the illumination edge of the offset parabolic reflector antenna. The far field of the reflector antenna is simulated by physical optical method based on the measured and simulated near field of the feed, the simulated results show that the reflector antenna has a reasonable antenna efficient and low side lobe level. The simulated and measured results show the validity and worth of this simple low-cost feed.
