Tumors of the biliary system

Cancers of the bile ducts (BD) and gallbladder (GB) are rare: bile ducts cancers representing 2% and gallbladder cancers 3–6% of all cancers with a different incidence depending on the sex and age of the patient [4,5,7,11,12,15]: bile ducts cancers are more common in men with a sex ratio of 1 to 4; gallbladder cancers are more common in women with a sex ratio of 6.7; there is a clear predilection for elderly patients.
