The handwriting digital recognition method comprises the steps of calculating Lie group conversion data to be classified and corresponding to images to be classified, obtaining sampling Lie group conversion data which are trained in advance and comprise different digital categories, determining a predetermined number of target sampling Lie group conversion data closest to the Lie group conversion data to be classified, and using the digital category of target sampling Lie group conversion data with the largest number and corresponding to the same digital category as the digital category of the images to the classified, wherein sampling Lie group conversion data are obtained according to a large number of training images corresponding to different digital categories. The handwriting digital recognition method and system has the advantages that simple and efficient digital recognition can be achieved, and recognition accuracy is improved.
