Karakteristik Konsentrasi Gas Metan Di Indonesia

2010
Characteristics of methane gas concentration in Indonesia is important to learn because methane gas is part of the greenhouse gases of which methane has 21 times the index of global warming CO2. The purpose of this study is to examine the characteristics of the concentration of methane gas in Indonesia, while the research objectives to be achieved is to know the character of the concentration profiles of CH4, CH4 concentration of surface and total column CH4 in Indonesia. This research was conducted using the data of vertical profiles of CH4, CH4 surface and total column CH4 from 2004 to 2009 of the Aura satellite by using a sensor TES (Tropospheric Emission Spectrometer). As a result of this research shows that from the profiles of methane, CH4 concentration has a maximum in the range of 1.80 to 1.92 ppm at an altitude of 11 km, surface methane concentrations from 2005 to 2009 in Indonesia has a minimum at dry season and maximum during the wet season ranged from 1.735 to 1.765 ppm, CH4 total columns from 2005 to 2007 in Indonesia tend to rise, however, the surface methane concentration tends to fall, when viewed from the global concentration in 1990 was at 1.7 ppm, Indonesia should reduce methane emissions, from the annual methane profiles from 2005 to 2009, at an altitude of 11 km year that experienced the maximum was 2009, from seasonal methane profiles from 2004 to 2009, during the dry season and the transition at an altitude of 11 km the maximum methane concentration occurred in 2009, while in the rainy season occurred in 2004 – 2005.
