Determination of Optimal Configuration Point for DSTATCOM in Distribution System

2018
When the upper power grid fault happens and a voltage sag occurs on the power supply side of the distribution system, different configuration points of the Distribution Static Synchronous Compensator(DSTATCOM) in the distribution system lead to different effects of overall improvement on the grid voltage. Aiming at the above problems, this paper presents an effective method for determining the optimal configuration point for DSTATCOM in radial distribution system. This method focuses on ensuring normal power supply within the maximum range of the distribution system. Firstly, the influence of DSTATCOM connected to distribution system voltage is analyzed, and the conclusion that the optimal configuration point of DSTATCOM is directly related to the line reactance and voltage sag amplitude is obtained. Then, under different parameters of the line reactance and the voltage sag amplitude, the voltage data of each bus in different cases is obtained. Combined with these data, the Euclidean distance between the voltages of each bus before and after compensation is used as the compensation effect evaluation standard. Finally, the IEEE 33 buses Distribution System model is built and the effectiveness of the method is verified by simulation.
