Method and apparatus for recognizing facial expression

Disclosed are a method for recognizing facial expression and an apparatus thereof. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the method comprises the steps of: extracting a feature from an input image; extracting a feature from a reference image; and recognizing facial expression of a user based on difference between the feature of the input image and the feature of the reference image.
