Observation of 2.5 MeV neutrons emitted from a titanium-deuterium system

The results of a measurement of the neutron emission from a Ti (metal)/D (gas) system by means of a spectrometer based on double scattering are reported. A∼2.5 σ signal corresponding to an emission of (1.3±0.5) neutron s−1 g−1 has been observed.
