Effect of "Tai Chi" quan exercise on oxidative stress and immunity function in old people

2013
“Tai Chi” shows promise for improving many health outcomes and are recommended for dissemination to older adults. A “Tai Chi” practice was tested in some old people. Results showed that plasma lipid levels were reduced in these old practicers. With a 6-month-exercise, significant improvements in oxidative injury was found for participants (P <0.01). Immunity function was also markedly (P <0.01) improved. It can be concluded that “Tai Chi” quan exercise is useful for older adults and causes favorable quality of life benefits.
