Spectroscopy of mixed valent states in dinuclear ions and metalloproteins

Abstract The typical spectroscopic features (EPR, vibrational and electronic absorption spectroscopy) to detect and characterize mixed-valent dimers are presented using organometallic, inorganic and bioinorganic examples.
