Prediction of Student Ratings of College Instructors from Multiple Achievement Test Variables

1978
In the 12 classrooms of educational psychology, 308 students completed the Inventory of Student Perception of Instruction (ISPI) and the Instructional Improvement Questionnaire (IIQ). Responses to each instrument were factor analyzed by the principal components solution. Six factors were extracted from the ISPI responses and six from the IIQ. Each of the three achievement test scores in educational psychology was a significant predictor (P < .001) of each of the six factors within each instrument. The perceptions of students about instruction were associated with their level of performance in those classes in which they received instruction.
