Synthesis of α, ω-dihydroxymethylphenylsiloxanes and their reactions with silicon tetrachloride and tetrabutoxytitanium

1. The hydrolysis of someα,ω-dichloromethylphenylsiloxanes was studied, and some α,ω-dihydroxymethyl-phenylsiloxanes were synthesized. 2. The reactions ofα,ω-dihydroxymethylphenylsiloxanes with silicon tetrachloride and with tetrabutoxy-titanium were carried out, and cruciform compounds having functional groups at the ends of the arms of the cross were synthesized, namely: tetrakis(3-hydroxy-1,3-dimethyl-1,3-diphenyldisiloxanyloxy)titanium; tetrakis(5-hydroxy-1,3,5-trimethyl-1,3,5-triphenyltrisiloxanyloxy)titanium; tetrakis(3-hydroxy-1,3-dimethyl-1,3-diphenyldisiloxanyloxy)silane; tetrakis(5-hydroxy-1,3,5-trimethyl-1,3,5-triphenyltrisiloxanyloxy)silane.
