Level of serum insulin-like growth factor-1 in patients with chronic pulmonary heart disease

Objective To study the clinical significance of the serum insulin like growth factor 1(IGF 1) level in patients with chronic pulmonary heart disease.Methods The levels of serum IGF 1 in the patients were measured by radioimmunoassay.Results The levels of serum IGF 1 in the patients were significantly lower than those in normal controls(P0.001).Conclusion Level of serum IGF 1 in patients with chronic pulmonary heart disease is significantly lower than that in normal subjects,though its significance remains to be studied.
