Delivery of private sector health care in Morocco. Attitudes and characteristics concerning family planning

2002
This report is the second in a series of two reports concerning studies conducted in the autumn of 2000. The first report titled "Basic indicators of the use of long-term family planning measures from the CMS Project in Morocco" is a partial account of a study of reproductive health care requirements and the use of reproductive health services among married women ages 15 to 49. With the approval of the Ministry of Health CMS conducted a survey among private health-care providers in communities where the inhabitants had been interviewed in the context of the above-mentioned study. This second study is the subject of the present report which examines the attitudes of the private service-providers and pharmacists in the area of family planning and the brands of family planning products in Morocco. We hope to identify the differences among the various types of practitioners (pharmacists private primary care physicians and private gynecologists) to better understand how they can be involved to a greater extent in the family planning program.
