Researching the Rodent Infestation in Farmland of Lijiang

Objective:To explore the main species and occurrence law of the rodent infestation in farmland for the warranty for controlling.Methods:It was invectigated with mouse trap.The samples were observed and classified month by month.Results:17 790 mouse traps were used from 1996 to 2000. 773 rats of eight species were captured. Eothenomys miletus,Rattus flavipectus and Micromys minutus were the main species of rats which caused the infestation in farmland.There were two periods which were affected by rats mostly.One was July,the other was from October to November.May and September were the main reproduction periods of rats.Conclusion:The most appropriate time for killing the rats should be from March to April and from September to Octoder.
