Electroluminescence from a Single Self‐Assembled CdSe Quantum Dot

We demonstrate electroluminescence from one single self‐organized CdSe quantum dot embedded in ZnSSe/MgS barriers. The electroluminescence intensity increases non‐linearly with bias showing excitonic and biexcitonic emission with a biexcitonic binding energy of around 20 meV.
