A One-Shot Diffusion Sequence Using aB1Gradient

Abstract The simple sequence including two B 1 gradient pulses ( g 1 ) separated by a diffusion interval Δ ( g 1 —Δ— g 1 ) can be repeated in an appropriate manner so as to determine the self-diffusion coefficient by acquiring a single data point at each cycle. Details of the whole one-shot sequence are given and its reliability and robustness demonstrated. It is, however, emphasized that its use should be limited to one-component samples with not too short longitudinal relaxation time, recognizing that it is independent of the transverse relaxation time.
