한우 친자확인이 도체형질에 미치는 영향

2021
This study was conducted to analyze the parentage test’s effect on Carcass trait in the Hanwoo industry to see the possibility of efficient Hanwoo improvement through the parentage test. For the analysis, I used Carcass data of 9,592 Hanwoo steers slaughtered from 2016 to 2019 in the Gyeongnam G area and analyzed carcass weight (CW), eye muscle area (EMA), backfat thickness (BF) and slaughter year, slaughter age, which affects the marbling score (MS), and parentage test effect. The mean value of CW, EMA, BF and MS were 452.50kg, 95.42㎠, 13.57㎜ and 6.38, respectively, which are the basic statistics of Hanwoo Carcass data used in this study. The effect of slaughter year and slaughter age showed a highly significant difference (p>0.01) in all traits, but most traits did not show significant differences in the slaughter age over 30months. The parentage test’s effect showed significant differences (p>0.05) in the other traits except for CW. However, for EMA and BF classified as meat yield traits, it was confirmed that there was no significant difference between the group with the same parent and the group with the different parent. EMA was significantly superior in the group with the same parent, which is judged to contribute to the farmers' higher income, only with accurate data control and parentage control. If more data are accumulated and studied in the future, significant differences might be confirmed.
