Treatment of coronary artery disease in hemodialysis patients

2004
: Coronary artery disease is important in patients with hemodialysis because it relates with prognosis. Characteristics of coronary lesions are severe calcification, diffuse disease and multi-vessel disease. Coronary artery bypass is effective to improve long-term prognosis; however, non-cardiac complication rate is high. Percutaneous coronary intervention is also effective but rotablator is required for severe calcified arteries. Complete revascularization can improve long-term prognosis.
