Message from Conference and Program Chairs

Welcome to the IEEE 2009 International Conference on Service-Oriented Computing and Applications (SOCA 2009) in Taipei, Taiwan. Taipei has put itself on the map not only for its role on bringing IT to all people, but also for its wonderful food and hospitality for international visitors. It is therefore a perfect location for SOCA 2009 that provides an international forum for researchers to exchange and share their experiences, ideas, and latest research results on all aspects of serviceoriented computing. With the ever-increasing complexity in today's enterprise systems and their complex interactions with trading partners and physical world, service-oriented computing (SOC) is the system technology that is designed to address the challenge of building dynamic enterprise applications. The active research and development effort in the past few years have successfully applied the SOC technology to business processes, web-based applications, embedded systems, and other domains.
