Design of Embedded Vehicle Safety Monitoring System

Nowadays vehicle safety monitoring systems are mostly integrated into auto PC. However, they are usually only used for fixed auto types and have the disadvantages of large size, high power consumption, poor universal, expensive and difficult to replace. Thus, based on Arm9 and Wince6, an embedded vehicle safety monitor system is designed, which has the functions of Diver Fatigue Monitor, Traffic Accident Automatic Help, Car/Cargo Anti-theft and Anti-Robbery, Vehicle Location and Speeding Alarm. At first, a hardware platform is designed using Arm9 as the core and then the kernel of customized WinCE 6.0 is installed into the platform. Then, MFC applications are developed based on the customized SDK (Software Development Kit) in the Visual Studio 2005 development environments. The applications are debugged and compiled to realize the designed functionality. Finally, it has been proved that the system can achieve its anticipate functions and can be widely applied in the fields of passenger transport, logistics, urban taxi and private cars through demonstration operating real vehicle test,.
