Enzymatic synthesis of aldonic acids.

Abstract Several aldonic acids ( d -mannonic, d -galactonic, d -xylonic, 2-deoxy- d -arabinohexonic (2-deoxy- d -gluconic)) were prepared on a scale of several grams by a simple oxidation catalyzed by glucose oxidase in pure water.
