Sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS)-non-gel molecular sieving capillary electrophoresis for proteins

1997
The long monopoly enjoyed by polyacrylamide slab gel electrophoresis in protein separation by molecular size is finally coming to the end as the novel method of capillary electrophoresis comes to the fore [1, 2]. There are three reasons why gel packed in a glass tube or between glass plates has long been used for separation: 1 heat convection can be suppressed; 2 electroosmosis can be suppressed; 3 separation by molecular size can be realized.
