Thin Film Transistor Array Substrate And Liquid Crystal Display Device

2012
The present invention provides: a thin film transistor array substrate, which is suitable for use in devices such as a liquid crystal display device having a three-layer electrode structure and capable of achieving faster response and higher transmittance, and which has a higher aperture ratio; and a liquid crystal display device which is provided with the thin film transistor array substrate. This thin film transistor array substrate comprises a thin film transistor element, a gate bus line and a source bus line, and also comprises electrodes that include a first electrode and a second electrode. The first electrode comprises linear portions extending along the source bus line and linear portions extending along the gate bus line. At least one of the linear portions extending along the source bus line is arranged sideways with respect to the linear portions extending along the gate bus line when the main surface of the substrate is viewed in plan, and is connected to the drain electrode of the thin film transistor element at a position where the linear portion overlaps the gate bus line. The second electrode is a planar electrode.
