The invention discloses a switching method of an application program, which is suitable for an electronic device. The electronic device is provided with a first machine body and a second machine body, wherein the second machine body is provided with a keyboard. The switching method of the application program comprises the following steps: external information is received when the electronic device executes the first application program; the relative position of the first machine body and the second machine body is changed into a second state from a first state so as to start a second application program, a display picture of the electronic device is switched into an execution picture of the second application program from an execution picture of the first application program so as to respond the external information, wherein the second application program uses the keyboard as an input interface; the relative position of the first machine body and the second machine body is changed into the first state from the second state so as to switch the execution picture of the second application program into the execution picture of the first application program, and the first application program is continuously executed.
