Analysis of the Establishment and Adjustment of Specialties in Institutions of Higher Learning from the Early Stage of Taiwan's Recovery to the Year of 1960

From the early stage of Taiwan's recovery to the year of 1960,higher education was restored and gradually developed and the education of master degree just began in Taiwan.During this period of time,the establishment and adjustment of specialties in institutions of higher learning presents the following features: few in number and variety and slow in growth,dominant in the development of such basic subjects as humanities and social sciences and natural sciences,initial tie established between the establishment and adjustment of specialties and the labor market,but weak in their linkage.This being the case,the heavy task in the development of institutions of higher learning lies in the establishment of new specialties in line with the intellectual and academic logical evolution.
