Efficiently luminescent copper(I) iodide complexes with crystallization-induced emission enhancement (CIEE)

Luminescent Cu(I) iodide complexes featuring simple neutral diimine and phosphine ligands were prepared. The emission intensity of these complexes were significantly enhanced by the crystallization. The intermolecular π-π interactions between the adjacent diimine ligands should be responsible for the crystallization-induced emission enhancement (CIEE) behaviors through consolidating the structural rigidity of these complexes.
