Effects of Ammonium Fluoride on the Spectral Properties for BCNO Phosphors

BCNO phosphors with adding different contents of ammonium fluoride were synthesized. The structure of BCNO phosphors was not influenced obviously by ammonium fluoride, while the surface morphology was corroded with increasing ammonium fluoride. XPS and FTIR results suggested that F was not bonded with either B or N and the content of N decreased with increasing ammonium fluoride. The emission peak position could be tuned from 498 nm to 540 nm with increasing contents of ammonium fluoride. The spectral properties of BCNO phosphors were influenced by the ammonium fluoride due to the change of band structure for BCNO phosphors.
