The present invention relates to a polypeptide of which (i) the N-terminal sequence comprises the polypeptide sequence of GBSSI (Granule Bound Starch Synthase I), a derivative or a fragment thereof, which polypeptide sequence has the ability to to bind to the starch, and (ii) the C-terminal sequence comprises a polypeptide sequence encoding at least one epitope of an antigen of a parasite of the genus Plasmodium; a polynucleotide encoding such a polypeptide; a vector comprising such a polynucleotide; a cell transformed by such a vector; a transformed organism comprising such a transformed cell; a pharmaceutical composition comprising such a polypeptide and the use of such a polypeptide for the manufacture of a medicament for the prophylactic treatment of a subject of a pathology associated with a parasite of the genus Plasmodium, preferably malaria.
