The Structure of Teachers' Organizational Commitment in China: Confirmatory Factor Analysis

The purpose of this study is to explore the dimension structure of teachers' organizational commitment in Chinese universities. Based on the relevant literature review and semi- structured interview study, an initial questionnaire of organizational commitment was designed. Through pre- investigation, we obtained a 25-subject formal questionnaire. After investigated total 300 teachers from 12 universities in Tianjin or Hebei Province, we used exploratory factor analysis (EFA), confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and structural equation model (SEM) methods to analyze the data. And the result shows that teachers' organizational commitment in Chinese universities includes six psychological dimensions: affective commitment, ideal commitment, relative commitment, condition commitment, continuance commitment, and obligate commitment.
