Crystal structure of a complexe of mercury(II) chloride and histidine hydrochloride
1970
A complex formed by crystallisation together of mercury(II) chloride and histidine hydrochloride has been examined by X-ray crystallographic methods. The crystals are orthorhombic, a= 8·116 ± 0·03, b= 7·206 ± 0·03, c= 19·77 ± 0·04 A, Z= 4, in the space group P212121. The compound contains mercury atoms each linked to three chlorine atoms and to one carboxyl oxygen atom of the histidine ion.
