ANÁLISE DA ESTRUTURA DE UMA UNIDADE DE SAÚDE DA FAMÍLIA SOB A PERSPECTIVA DA AMBIÊNCIA Analysis of a Family Health Unit's structure from the perspective of ambience

This study aims to describe the Family Health Unit structure from the perspective of ambience. It is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. Data collection was performed during November and December 2007, through semi-structured interviews and observation. We interviewed 10 professionals from the family health team, the Municipal Secretary of Health, and the Family Health Strategy Coordination office. Minayo's thematic analysis was used for the data analysis. Considering the before and after cases regarding implementation of the Family Health Unit, according to the professionals, the unit's physical plant was improved with the construction and adaptation of new rooms. However, the infrastructure conditions still lack a pleasant, comfortable, and cozy environment.
