E. C. G. changes in diabetic retinopathy

E.C.G. recording in 93 cases of diabetic retinopathy showed changes suggestive of ischaemic heart disease in 19.3% of cases, compared to 6.7% in those without retinopathy. Microangiopathy responsible for diabetic retinopathy may be the cause of ischaemic heart disease in these cases
